A Very Brief Summary of
Events
The Miraculous Night
Journey from Makkah to the Farthest Mosque in Jerusalem
The Ascent through
the Spheres of Heavens
The Shab e Mi’raj is the
blessed night when the Holy Prophet
(Sallal-Laahu 'Alaiehi Wa
Sallam)
was transported to heaven and he reached a high stage of nearness
to Allaah[God] Almighty which is beyond ordinary human comprehension. The
purpose of the Ascent was to confirm the high status of the Prophet of Islam.
It is a unanimous belief that the
Holy Prophet Muhammad traveled from Makah to Jerusalem where He led all
the Prophets in prayer (The Israa`), and then ascended (The Mi’raj) through
the seven heavens to the station of 'Qaba Qausayn aw Adnaa', close to Allaah
Almighty two bow’s length or less, in both body and soul.
It was a station that
was beyond the reaches of Angel Jibraaeel [Alaiehis Salaam].
The Beloved of Almighty Allaah (Sallal-Laahu 'Alaiehi Wa Sallam) traveled on the night of
Mi’raj to the heavens and beyond, and when he came back in such a short space
of time, that when he returned the water from his ablution was still running
and his bed was still warm!
Allaah Ta’aala invited His
Beloved Messenger (Sallal-Laahu 'Alaiehi Wa Sallam) to the heavens and the
Throne of Almighty Allaah to show him those symbols and signs about which all
the previous Prophets had just heard …. Seeing Almighty Allaah with the
physical eyes, the Throne of Allaah Ta’ala, the Divine Chair, the Divine Tablet
and Pen, Paradise, Hell etc. so that the testimony of the other Prophets
regarding these would be based on what is heard and that of our Beloved
Rasool (Sallal-Laahu 'Alaiehi Wa Sallam) on what is seen.

Of all the prophets, our
Prophet, Muhammad Muhammad (Sallal-Laahu 'Alaiehi Wa Sallam) was
blessed with the most Miracles. Al-Isra' and al-Mi'raj are among the many
miracles of Prophet Muhammad (Sallal-Laahu 'Alaiehi Wa Sallam)
The Mi'raj night Ascension
took place on the blessed night of 27th of Rajab al-Murajjib, the 7th month of
the Islamic Calendar, one year before the migration to Madinah t-ul-Munawarah
at the district of Abu Talib in the blessed city of Makkah, where he was
resting at the house of Ummi Haani, his uncle’s Abu Taalib’s daughter.
Hazrat
Jibraeel (Alaiehis Salaam) came with the invitation from Allaah
Ta’aala Greeted the Prophet (Sallal-Laahu 'Alaiehi Wa Sallam).
And conveyed Allaah Almighty Salaam and said He bestows upon you the Blessing which He has given
to no other Prophet, to no other creature. He invites you to Himself. …Part-1
