What is Zikr/Dhikr of Allaah Almighty?

Zikr, Allah,God

Zikr/ Dhikr, ذکر [Zikr in Urdu and Zekr in Persian] [Arabic "pronouncement", "invocation" or "remembrance"] is the ‘Remembrance of God’ [Allah/Allaah] commanded in the Qur'an for all Muslims. To engage in Zikr/Dhikr is to have awareness of God and Honoring His Omnipresence Present. Zikr as a devotional act includes the repetition of the Divine Names, supplications, and sayings from the Hadees literature, and sections of the Qur'an. More generally, any activity in which the Muslim maintains awareness of God is considered Zikr.

Zikr of Allaah Almighty causes one's mention in the Court of Allaah, as said in the Holy Book …Quraan Al Kareem.

REMEMBER ME, AND I WILL REMEMBER YOU,

and as stated in the Hadees

[Whosoever Remembers Me in his heart, I Remember him in My heart].

Zikr/Dhikr It opens the door of Realization [Maarifat] of Allaah Kareem.

ALLAAH HU ALLAAH!
