Surah Younus-58 -Quran/Koran -We must Rejoice in receiving the Grace of Allaah Kareem
Melaad un Nabee
[Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]
Every nation remembers birth or death of their guide/leader and arranges public meetings / gatherings so that successive generations of their people become aware of their leader and benefit from his life, personal attributes, and achievements. Such occasions help people in many ways, particularly in doing good deeds and remain united.
People also celebrate and remember important events of their
history and show happiness and pride for their past achievements.
Knowing that the Holy Prophet ﷺ is a gift, bounty, grace, mercy and favor from Allaah ﷻ, do we not have a duty to thank Allaah ﷻ?
Should we not
express our gratitude to Allaah ﷻ? If yes, and surely yes then in what way and
how? Let us see how Allaah ﷻdemands us to show our thanks and express our
gratitude for the gifts He has bestowed us with. Allaah ﷻsays in the Qur’an
“Say: In receiving the
grace and mercy of Allaah, they must rejoice, it is better than what they
hoard”
[Surah Yunus, 58]
From the above verse, we learn that we should rejoice which means we should be happy, and we should celebrate. We also learn that it is better than hoarding wealth, which means we should spend it to show our gratitude to Allaah ﷻ.
Where must we spend our wealth to rejoice? Should we buy new clothes,
decorations, give to the poor and feed the poor and also feed our fellow
Muslims?
The answer is common sense; spend your wealth on that which is within the law of Islaam and shows your happiness and thankfulness towards Allaah.ﷻ
We now know that we should rejoice the
coming of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It is demanded by Allaah ﷻ to rejoice
and spend to show our gratitude on receiving the mercy and grace of Allaah ﷻ.
Isn’t that exactly what the true lovers of the beloved do to celebrate the
Mawlid/Meelad/Milad Un Nabee
[Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]?
Allaah ﷻsays in another verse of the Qur’an,
وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ
“And publicize well the Bounty of your Lord”
[Surah ad-Duha, 11]
It is very rare that a leader will ask his followers to celebrate his birthday. Did our grandfather or father ever asked us to celebrate his birthday? It is the children or the grand children who show a lot of enthusiasm and make arrangements for the birth days of their father/mother or Grandparents.
However, the parents or grandparents feel happy when their children or grandchildren
show love and care for them. Celebration
of one’s birthday is just a show of care, love.
It is a fact that Beloved Prophet Muhammad
[Praise and Peace be upon Him]
is the worthiest and the greatest of all mankind, and that he is the
most perfect of all, adorned with the most excellent virtues and qualities. His
physical description and character have been reported by many of his Companions
and he was the most handsome man ever created. Everyone who met him said they
had never seen anyone like him.
May Allaah Kareem illuminate our heart and increase our love for this Noble Prophet [Praise and Peace be upon Him] and keep us firm on the righteous path.
Your joys surpass thousands of 'Eid’s; All in the
world are rejoicing, except Shaietan.
