Verse About Jummah from the Quran
“O you who believe, when the Salat is announced on Friday, you shall hasten to the commemoration of Allaah, and drop all business. This is better for you, if you only knew. Once the prayer is completed, you may spread through the land to seek Allaah’s bounties, and continue to remember Allaah frequently, that you may succeed.” Soorah al-Jumuah,
In context of Friday prayer, we should remember that going early to masjid is recommended. Listening to Khutbah is a virtuous deed having many rewards associated with it. Therefore, we should always reach masjid well in time (before start of Friday Khutbah) to offer Friday prayers. If we make it a habit to reach late, the essence of Friday prayer is not respected. This congregation of Friday prayer is done in order that all gather at a single place to offer collective prayer once a week. The gathering unifies the Ummah. A sermon is delivered to preach, teach and spread awareness among the Ummah about crucial matters related to society in Islamic view. Therefore, it is our duty to respect the essence of this congregation.
