Beautiful intentions to make during the 'Lock Down'..

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

With the lock-down  upon us, as Muslims, we can be in one of two categories.

The first category will be those who will enter the lock-down solely because they have to. They will gain no benefit and will begin feeling restless very quickly.
The second category will be those who will turn this action of dunya into an action of Aakhirat. They will gain benefit and be scoring in A'maal even while doing daily necessities of life.

The only difference between these two categories, and the action through which the second category achieves success is that of *Intention.*
The Prophet ﷺ said in a Hadees, to the effect:

إِنَّمَا الاَعْمَالُ بِالنِّيَّاتِ _"Actions are according to intentions."_

From this Hadees we see that by increasing in our intentions, we will benefit and achieve more. So let us not deprive ourselves, but rather let us use this simple, easy way to gain maximum benefit.

*INTENTIONS TO MAKE DURING THIS PERIOD:*

1. Oh Allaah Kareem, this is Your command, because no law can be passed on this earth, except if You decree. Oh Allaah, I am obeying Your command.

2. Oh Allaah, I am following the law of my country and fulfilling my right as a citizen. 

3. Oh Allaah Kareem, I am staying at home to make Ikraam (honor) of others.
4. Oh Allaah Kareem, I intend to use this time to repair my relationship with You - to make taubah and become closer to You. Oh Allaah, You grant me the ability. 
5. Oh Allaah, by staying at home You are blessing me with the chance to protect my eyes from sin. Oh Allaah Kareem, please help me to protect my eyes from looking at any evil inside my house, too - magazines, television, videos, pictures on our phones, etc. Oh Allaah Kareem, I am making intention to continue protecting my gaze after this too In Sha Allaah, the benefit of which, according to a Hadees to the effect, is that one will taste the sweetness of Iemaan. Oh Almighty Allaah, You grant me the ability. 

6. Oh Allaah Kareem, through staying at home, I am saving myself from going to possible places of vice and sin. 

7. Oh Allaah, now that I have extra free time on my hands, I intend to increase in my Qur'aan tilaawat, nafl salaahs, and other good A'maal that I usually do not find the time to do. 

8. Oh Allaah, by doing this (above) I am also preparing for Ramadaan Mubaarak. 

9. Oh Allaah, You are the giver of health and sickness. Oh Allaah, through staying at home, I am adopting a means of looking after my health and body, which is a trust from You, and saving others from harm and difficulty. 
10. Oh Allaah Kareem, I intend using this opportunity You have blessed me with, to strengthen my bond with my family. 
11. Oh Allaah, I intend making khidmat (serving) of my parents and any elders in my home, and I intend having mercy on those younger than me in my home.

The Prophet ﷺ said to the effect, "He who does not respect our elders, and does not show mercy to our young ones, is not from us."
12. Oh Allaah, I will use this time to spend time and teach  my children In Shaa Allaah. Nabi ﷺ said to the effect,

"A person while training /teaching his child earns more reward from Allaah Kareem than when he is spending (about 7 pounds of grain) in His path."

13. Oh Allaah Kareem, my Beloved Prophet ﷺ would also sit for long periods of time in solitude, and He ﷺ loved solitude, therefore I make intention of practicing on a Sunnah. 
14. Oh Allaah Kareem, in the lives of those who were beloved to You, we see that it was through solitude and isolation, that they were blessed with goodness, success and prosperity. It was during solitude in the cave of Hiraa that Prophet ﷺ was given Prophet hood.

And after 40 days in the belly of the whale that so much of goodness opened up for Hazrat Yoonus عليه السلام. 
15. Oh Allaah Kareem, I am making intention of I'tikaaf [Seclusion]. The Hadees mentions to the effect, that three trenches will be dug between a person and Jahannam [Hell] and the distance of one trench is more than the distance between the heavens and the earth. 
16. Oh Allaah Kareem, if I was allowed to leave my home, I would have attended gatherings of Your remembrance, (halaqas, etc) so please grant me the full reward. 

17. Oh Allaah Kareem, if I could leave my home, and if others (poor and needy) could leave their homes, it would have been easier to give sadaqah [Charity]. Please grant me the full reward of that, too. 

18. Oh Allaah Kareem, by staying at home, You are blessing me with the ability to practice the highest level of seclusion. 
19. Oh Allaah, I am making intention to refrain from all those actions that displease You, and to try my best to spend my days fruitfully in doing actions that  PLEASE YOU.. 

Butterfly

20. Oh Allaah Kareem, just as a caterpillar, after being cocooned for a period of time comes out as a butterfly, so too with us, after this period of lock-down, let us emerge spiritually as bright and beautiful butterflies.
_May Allaah accept from us all, protect our Iemaan, grant us ease, aafiyat, khair and His special mercies آمين.
