The Battle of Badr -Ghazwah e Badr
The Battle of Badr [Ghazwah e Badr] was the first major battle fought between the Muslims and Kufaar after being driven out from their homes in Makkah following economic restrictions and oppression.
They fought the powerful Kufaar’s Quraish Army, it
was fought on Tuesday, 13 March 624 CE [17 Ramadan, 2 AH], near the
present-day city of Badr, Al Madinah Province in Arabia. It
is around 70 miles from Madinah Munawwarah.
Its details are present in the Holy Quran, Ahadees
and the books of Seerah [biography] and history. In this Ghazwah, the
Muslim warriors showed great courage and bravery despite being less in number
and lacking the war essentials.
It
was won by the Muslims who were 313 in number only, against the strong army of
above thousands Makkan disbelievers.
