SAYYIDAH HAZRAT KHADĪJAH TUL-KUBRĀ

On 10th of Ramadan we remember
and honour the passing away of Mother of the Believers Umm al-Mu’mineen Khaier
al-Nisā Saiyyidah Khadījah bint Khuwaylid the first and most beloved wife of
the Holy Prophet Muhammad

[Peace and a Blessings be upon him and his family]
She is known as the Mother of the
believers, [Umm al Mumineen] and was the first person to accept Islam. It
was Hazrat Khadijah, who first recognized and confirmed the Prophethood of Holy
Prophet Muhammad after his revelatory experience at Mount Hira. She was the
first to spend for Islam, the first to be given glad tidings of Paradise, the
first to pray with the Holy Prophet.

Saiyyidah Khadījah was a very successful
merchant. She was known by the names Princess of Quraiesh, [Amīrat al-Quraiesh]
the Pure One [Al-Tāhira] and Khadījah the great [ Khadījah tul-Kubra]. She
fed and clothed the poor, assisted her relatives financially and provided
marriage portions for the poor.
She died in "Ramadan of the year 10
after the Prophethood”, in November AD 619.Prophet Muhammad later called this
tenth year "the Year of Sorrow", as his uncle and protector Hazrat
Abu Talib also died at this time Hazrat Khadijah [Radiyal Laah Anha] is
said to have been about 65 years old at the time of her demise, she was buried
in Jannat al-Mu'alla cemetery, in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
