Which Places, Sites Are Visitable In Holy Madinah?
Answer:
The holy shrine of the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم and every nook and cranny of Masjid un Nabwi مسجد النّبوی particularly the old portion of the Mosque are visit able. Pulpit of the Holy Prophet, “Riyaad
(Riyaaz)ul Jannah ریاض الجنّۃ” (the Heaven garden) situated between the pulpit and “Hujrah حُجرۃ” (chamber, room) of the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم and pillars of the Mosque are the sacred places to have oneself blessed with.
Jannat ul Baqee جنت البقیع:
It is the famous and big graveyard of Holy Madinah where some 10,000 companions of the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم and innumerable successors to the Prophet's companions, successors to the companions' successors, saints, savants, posterity of the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم which include Hazrat Imaam Hasan Mujtabaa, Hazrat Imaam Zaienul Aabideen امام زین العابدین, Imaam Muhammad Baqar امام محمد باقرand Imaam Ja'far Saadique امام جعفر صادق(may Allah be pleased with them all) are taking rest (buried) here.
But alas! The shrines of all these venerable personages have been demolished leaving no traces of them.
Masjid-e-Qubaaمسجدِ قُباء :
Offering two Rak'at (رکعت)prayer in this mosque earns a believer the reward equal to that of an Umrah's(عمرہ) . It is proved by authentic traditions that the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم used to visit this mosque every week. Sometimes he walked it on foot and sometimes rode a riding-beast.
Masjidul Qibla-taienمسجد القبلتین :
The change of Qiblah (the direction in which prayer is offered) towards the holy Kabaah was commanded in this mosque during prayer.
The Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم was leading prayer and had completed two Rak'atsرکعات in the direction of Baiet ul Muqaddasبیت المقدس (Jerusalem) when the command of Allaah Almighty for the change of Qiblahقبلہ descended.
The Holy Prophet صلّی اللہ علیہ وسلم immediately changed his direction towards the holy Kabaah (from Baietul Muqaddas) and completed the prayer offering the remaining two Rak'ats in the direction of Kabaah.
It has two “Mehraab محراب” (arches) one in the direction of Baietul Muqaddas and the other towards the sacred Kabaah.
Besides these mosques there are some other mosques of historical significance like Masjid-e-Kabeerمسجدِ کبیر , Masjid-e-Jumu'ahمسجدِ جُمع , Masjid-e-Shamsمسجدِ شمس , Masjid-e-Banee Quraizahمسجدِ بنی قریزہ , Masjid-e-Ibraaheemمسجدِ ابراہیم , Masjid-e-Zafarمسجدِ ظفر , Masjidul Ijaabatمسجد العجابات , Masjid-e-Fatahمسجدِ فتح , Masjid-e-Banee Haraamمسجدِ بنی حرام , Masjid-e-Zubaabمسجدِ ذُباب etc.
Shuhudaa-e-Uhudشُہداءِ اُحد :
The Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم used to visit the graves of the martyrs of the battle of Uhud at the beginning of every year.
Hazrat Hamzahسیّد الشُّہداء حضرت امیر حمزہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ (may Allah be pleased with him) is taking rest (buried) here.
The wells of Madinah:
The Holy Prophet graced some wells by either performing ablution with its water or drinking its water or putting his blessed saliva in it. Thus these wells i.e. Beer-e-Areesبئر اریس , Beer-e-'Urs بئر عرس , Beer-e-Budaa'ah, Beer-e-Haa, Beer-e-Romah, Beer-e-Ihaab, Beer-e-Anas bin Maalik, Beer-e-Bussah, Beer-e-'Ahain etc. are attributed to the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم. Some of them are extant and some extinct.
