"In the name of
Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Peace and blessings upon our
beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), his family, and his
companions."
Today, we're exploring
a deeply spiritual and profound concept in Islam—the creation of the Noor or
light of Prophet Muhammad
(Peace Be Upon Him).
For
centuries, scholars and poets have reflected on this light of the Holy Prophet
not only as a symbol of spiritual guidance, some as metaphysical but also as a
reality.
According
to Islamic tradition, the first thing that Allaah Almighty created was the
light, or Noor, of Prophet Muhammad [Peace be upon Him] and called it the cause
of the creation of the universe. …there are many Verses and Ahadees that point
toward this belief.
For
example,
Almighty Allaah also says in the Holy Quraan in
Surah Al Maidah: Verse 15
Bismil laah Hir Rahman Nir Raheem
قَدْ جَآءَكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ نُورٌۭ وَكِتَـٰبٌۭ
مُّبِينٌۭ ١٥
Indeed, towards you has come a light … from
Allaah, and a clear Book.
This idea is further
explained in other Ahadees and writings from early Islamic scholars.
Therefore, the famous Hadees regarding the first creation by Hazrat Jaabir
bin Abdul Laah Ansaari [Radiyal Laah Anhu] said:
I asked the Holy Prophet, O Messenger of Allaah [Yaa Rasool al Laah]!
Tell me, what did Almighty Allaah create before all things? The Holy
Prophet [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] said:
O Jaabir! Without doubt, Almighty Allaah created the light of your Prophet
first of all.
Then that 'Illuminant light' continued to travel wherever He willed by the
power of Almighty Allaah.
At that time there was no tablet, no pen, no paradise, no hell, no Angel,
no heaven, no earth, no sun, no moon, no jinn, no human [anything] there was
nothing.
Then when Almighty Allaah wanted to create creatures [makh looq].
He made four parts of that light, from the first part He created the pen,
from the second part He created the Preserved Tablet, from the third part He
created the Throne and then the Highest Sphere/Sky, [Arsh].
And again, He divided the fourth part into four parts. From the first part
the bearers of the throne, from the second part the chair, from the third part
all the other Angels were created and divided the fourth part into four parts.
From the first part He created the [seven] heavens, from the second part
the [seven] earths, from the third part created paradise and hell and the
fourth part was again divided into four parts.
From the first part He created the light of the believers' eyes, from the
second part He created the light of their heart from which they get knowledge
of Almighty Allaah, from the third part He created the light of their love and
devotion which is Monotheism 'Oneness of God' [there is no god, but Allaah and
Muhammad is Messenger of Allaah] [Tauheed].
Then He divided the fourth part into four parts, from the first part He
created the sun, from the second part He created the moon and from the third
part He created the stars.
And the fourth part was kept in the place of Hope for thousands of years.
Then He divided it into four parts. From the first part He created
intellect, from the second part He created knowledge and patience and from the
third part He created infallibility and capability.
Then Almighty Allaah created twelve veils[hijaab] and kept the fourth part
of the light in each veil for one thousand years and they are places of
worship. And they are the veils of virtue, happiness, adornment, mercy, grace,
knowledge, forbearance, dignity, tranquility, patience, truthfulness, and
certainty.
Then that light worshiped in every veil for a thousand years. Then when the
light came out of the veil and Almighty Allaah placed it on the ground, it was
shining between the East and the West like a bright lamp in the dark night.
Then Allaah Kareem created Prophet Hazrat Aadam [Salutation be upon him]
from earth/clay and placed that light in his forehead.
Then that light passed from him to his son Prophet Sheesh
[Salutation be upon him].
In the same way, the illuminant light [Noor] kept moving from chaste-to-chaste
[taahir] and from pure-to-pure [taiy yib] until it came to the loins of Blessed
Hazrat Abdul Laah bin Abdul Muttalib.
Radiyal Laah Anhu
[Then He said] Then Almighty Allaah brought me to this world and made me
Leaders of Messengers [Saiyyid Al Mursaleen], Seal of Prophets [Khaatim Al
Nabeey yeen], Mercy to all Worlds [Rahmatul Lill Aalameen] and Leader of the Previous.
This is the beginning of the light of your Prophet, O Jaabir!
[Al-Daar Al-Baahiya: Volume 4۔ The Missing Part of the First Part of the Compilation Imaam
Hazrat Abdul Ar-Razzaaq: 18]
Hazrat Imaam Qastalaani and Allaamah Zarqaani [may Allaah have mercy on
them] have narrated this Hadees also leader Shaiekh of Islaam Imaam Muhammad
Nauwee Al-Shaafi’ee has narrated the whole Hadees in his book Al-Dar Al-Daar ….Al-Bahiya
The source of this Hadees is the great Imaam Hazrat Abdul Razzaaq who was

teacher of Hazrat Imaam Bukhaari.
Dear Viewers, the
belief in the light of Prophet Muhammad [Peace be upon Him]
as the
first creation reminds us of his profound significance in our lives and the
entire universe. Whether we view this concept literally or metaphorically, it
reinforces the spiritual truth that the Prophet's presence is a mercy for all
of creation.
May Allah grant us deeper understanding and allow us to live by the light of
the Prophet's guidance.
