100 CAMELS SACRIFICED TO SAVE ' HAZRAT ABDUL LAH-

THE FAMOUS VOW MANNAT OF HAZRAT ABDUL MUTTALIB!

[Radiyal Laah Anhuma]

The Honorable lineage of the Prophet Muhammad

صلى الله عليه وسلّم

Your surname was Abu Muhammad, and your title was Zabeeh. You were your father’s dearly cherished and beloved son.

The reason for the title Zabeeh is that your father, Hazrat Abdul Muttalib, while digging the well of Zamzam, made a vow (mannat) that if Almighty Allah granted him ten sons and they all reached adulthood, he would sacrifice one of them in the way of Almighty Allaah.

When his ten sons grew up, one night he was sleeping near the Holy Ka'bah when someone came to him in a dream and said:

“O ABDUL MUTTALIB, FULFILL THE VOW YOU MADE TO YOUR LORD.”

Hazrat Abdul Muttalib [Radiyal Laah Anha] got up in a panic and slaughtered a ram and distributed it among the poor and needy. The next night he was commanded to sacrifice something bigger than a ram.

Hazrat Abdul Muttalib woke up from the dream and slaughtered an ox. It was ordered on the third night to slaughter something even bigger! Hazrat Abdul Muttalib asked the speaker, “What is bigger than a camel?”

He said, “Slaughter one of your sons whom you have vowed for”. He woke up from his dream and became very sad. He gathered all his children and told them the event of his vow and expressing his determination to fulfill the vow, he asked them. Everyone offered himself and gave him the power to sacrifice whomever he wanted. He wrote the names of all the ten sons and prayed to Allaah, “O Allaah, name the one whose sacrifice is acceptable to you”.

Then the lot was drawn and Hazrat Abdul Laah’s name came out of the lot. Although he was the most beloved of all the sons to Hazrat Abdul Muttalib, he was compelled and helpless by this Divine decision. When he went to fulfill his vow with the knife and Hazrat Abdul Laah, Abdul Laah’s brother and maternal family stopped him. And the chiefs of the Quraiesh also forbade him and said that if you offer this sacrifice, it will become a ritual for the future for which your sacrifice will be a proof. So, ask your Lord for forgiveness and go to such and such a priestess who is currently living in Khyber. Hopefully she will come up with a better way.

When the people went to the priestess and told her the whole story, she said,

“What is the blood money of the soul among you?”

She was told that ten camels. She said go to your city and draw lots on ten camels and Abdul Laah! If the lot is drawn in the name of Abdul Laah, then add ten more camels. Even then, if the lot of Abdul Laah's name is drawn, do add ten more camels. In the same way, increase ten, ten camels until the name of the camel is drawn. And when the name of the camel is drawn, understand that now our God [Allaah] is pleased, and He has accepted the sacrifice of so many camels in exchange for Abdul Laah.

Then slaughter those camels. So, the lot was drawn, and it started with ten camels, then each time ten, ten camels were increased. Hazrat Abdul Muttalib kept on praying to Almighty Allaah, [Hazrat] Abdul Laah's name kept coming out in the lot till ninety camels. When the number of camels reached one hundred, the name of the camels came out. The people said, ‘O Abdul Muttalib! Now Allaah is pleased.

Hazrat Abdul Muttalib said: Absolutely not, until the name of the camels is drawn three times. So, the lot was drawn three times again and the name of the camel was drawn. So Hazrat Abdul-Muttalib fulfilled his vow by sacrificing a hundred camels in the ransom of his son and distributed them amongst the needy and poor, and for general, animals and birds.

Therefore, the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلّم

have said:

I am the son of two Zabeeh

[ Hazrat Ismaa’eel [Alaiehis Salaam] and Abdul Laah].

Allaah Kareem saved both of them by accepting the gift of sacrifice of Prophet Hazrat Ismaa’eel and Hazrat Abdul Laah because in both their foreheads was the ‘Noor’ of Leader of the ‘World’ Holy Prophet Muhammad, صلى الله عليه وسلّم.

And his appearance arrival was destined from their descendants, and this was the blessings of His light [Noor] that the sacrifices of both were accepted, and their lives were saved.

Prior to Hazrat Abdul Laah's sacrifice, ten camels for human blood money [bloodshed] were prescribed in Arabia, but after this incident the value of blood money was fixed at one hundred camels. With the increase in the value of blood money, it is clear that the value of human beings would have increased, and the number of murders would have decreased significantly. As if this manifestation was the prelude to the Sacred Luminous Light.

Who’s coming emergence into worldly existence was to increase the value of humanity and to end the cruelty domination and oppression.
