How Many Books Has Allah Almighty Sent Down?
Allah Almighty sent Divine Books and Scriptures to His Prophets for the guidance of mankind. These revealed teachings helped people understand their Creator, recognize His Messengers, distinguish right from wrong, and follow the commands of Allah Almighty.
Divine Books and Suhuf
According to Islamic belief, Allah Almighty revealed books and Suhuf (small scriptures or pages) to many of His Prophets. The exact number of these revealed scriptures is known only to Allah Almighty and, according to the Islamic tradition expressed in this teaching, to His Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Among the revealed Books, four are particularly prominent:
1. Torah
The Torah (Tawrat) was revealed by Allah Almighty to Prophet Musa (Moses) عليه السلام. It contained guidance and commandments for the people to whom Prophet Musa عليه السلام was sent.
2. Zabur
The Zabur (Psalms) was revealed to Prophet Dawud (David) عليه السلام. It contained divine guidance and praises of Allah Almighty.
3. Injil
The Injil (Gospel) was revealed to Prophet Isa (Jesus) عليه السلام. It provided guidance to the people of his time and confirmed the truth of the earlier revelation.
4. The Glorious Quran
The Glorious Quran is the final revealed Book, sent down by Allah Almighty to His Beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ, the final Prophet.
Muslims believe that the Quran is the final Divine revelation and is a source of guidance for all mankind. It teaches people about the Oneness of Allah, faith, worship, morality, justice, and the way of life that pleases Allah Almighty.
Belief in the Divine Books
Belief in Allah's revealed Books is an important part of Islamic faith. Muslims believe in the Divine origin of the revelations sent to Allah's Prophets and Messengers, while the Quran is regarded as the final revelation and the ultimate source of guidance for humanity.
The revealed Books were sent as guidance so that mankind could know Allah Almighty, follow His commands, and live according to His guidance.
Conclusion
Allah Almighty sent revelation to His Prophets to guide humanity. The exact number of all revealed Books and Suhuf is known only to Allah Almighty. Among the well-known Divine Books are the Torah, Zabur, Injil, and the Glorious Quran.
The Glorious Quran, revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, is the final Divine Book and remains a source of guidance for Muslims throughout the world.
May Allah Almighty grant us the ability to understand His Divine guidance, follow His commands, and remain steadfast upon the true path. Aameen.
