Shaiekh Saiyyid Abdul Qaadir Hasani Husaieni Jeelaani, Saiyyid Ghaus-e-A'zam,
[Rahamtul Laah Alaieh]
.Discourse Four, p.34.

“When you are dead to the creation, and in your will and desires, it will be said May God [Allaah Taa’laa] have mercy on you… and then you will be given a new life after which there is no death, and you will be enriched with a wealth after which there is no poverty.

And you will be awarded a gift after which there will be no obstruction, and you will be made happy with a happiness after which there will be no sorrow and misery, and you will be blessed with a blessing after which there will be no adversity; and you will be equipped with a knowledge after which there will be no ignorance, and you will be given a security after which there will be no fear, and you will be made to prosper so as not to be unlucky, and you will be honored so as not to be dishonored, and you will be made near to God to as not to be kept away, and you will be exalted so as not to be lowered… you will then become the philosopher’s stone so that you will elude being recognized in your elevated position, and you will be so exalted that you will have no like of yourself, unique so that you will have no peer and no equal.

You will become unique and peerless, most hidden and most secret.

Note:

Shaiekh Abdul Qaadir Jeelaani,

[Rahmatul Laah Alaieh]

is addressing this generally to anyone listening to his sermons, this means it could be a King or even a street cleaner, it is characteristic of the great Shaiekh that they would make spiritual elevation general to all ranks of people, later innovators restricted to such and such Shaiekh.

Abdul qadir

He does not rank people according to economic achievement, the only ranking is spirituality, the rest is useless. These are the scales of Allaah Almighty He has set for the ranking of man, who are you to change these?

Shaiekh

is not putting a job or education as a limit to enlightenment, so why do you?

The Shaiekh is saying that anyone can become an inheritor of the Prophet Muhammad [Peace be upon Him] if he comes out of the realm of the ego and enters the realm of knowledge:

“You will then become the successor of every Messenger and Prophet of God [Allaah Kareem] and every truthful man (Siddiq). You will become the finishing point of all saintliness (wilayat) and the living saints will flock to you. And through you will difficulties be solved and through your prayers will the clouds, rain and the fields yield harvest, through your prayers will be removed the calamities and troubles of the rank and file of people, even those living in the frontiers, of the rulers and the subjects, of the leaders and the followers and of all creatures. So you will be the police officer for cities and people… No two persons of faith will differ in regard to you.”

The book, If you choose to read it, is full of reference of direct influence of Allaah Almighty [God] in a person’s life:

“And the sign of your vanishing from your will by the action of God [Allaah Almighty] is that you should never entertain any resolve and that you should have no objective, nor should any feeling of need be left in you nor any purpose, because you will not have any objective other than the ‘Oneness’ of Almighty Allaah, instead the action of Allaah Kareem will be manifested in you, so at the time of the operation of the will and act of Allaah Almighty you will maintain passivity of the organs of your body, the calmness of your heart, broadness of your mind, and you will keep your face shining and your inside flourishing and you will be above the need of things because of your connection with their Creator.

The hand of Power will keep you in movement and the tongue of Eternity will be calling you, and the Lord of the Universe will be teaching you and will clothe you with Light from Himself and with spiritual dress and will install you in the ranks of past men of knowledge.

After this experience you will never remain broken down. Neither any sensual desire nor any will remain in you, like a broken vessel which retains neither water nor dreg. And you will be devoid of all human actions so that your inner self will accept nothing but the will of Almighty Allaah [God]. At this stage, miracles and supernatural things will be ascribed to you. These things will be seen as if proceeding from you when in fact they will be acts of God [Almighty Allaah]and His will.

Then you will be admitted in the company of those whose hearts have been smashed and their animal passions have vanished. Hence, they have been inspired with the Divine will, and new desires of daily existence, it is in reference to this stage that the Holy Prophet [Peace Be Upon Him] says: “three things out of your world have been made dear to me- perfume, women and prayer, wherein has been reposed the coolness of my eyes.”

BREAKING/SMASHING:

“And if the newly created will is found to contain any trace of your ego, God [Allaah Almighty] the Exalted will break this, so that you will always remain broken hearted, in this way, He will keep watching your will, and every time He finds your ego contaminates it, He will smash/break it every time. You must get established in ego free desires.

I become the ear with which he hears, and his eyes with which he sees, and his hands with which he holds things, and his legs with which he walks, this is the state of fana.

He will give you safety from the evil of His creation and will submerge you under the ocean of His good. Thus, you will become the focal point of all that is good and the spring hear of all blessings and happiness and pleasure and light and peace and tranquility. So fana is the end and base of the journey of the saints.

All the previous saints in their different stages of development have been asking for persistent efforts for changing their own will to the will of Allaah Almighty [God]. All of them, to the end of their lives, annihilated their own will and transformed it into the will of God [Allaah Kareem]. This is why they are called Abdaal, which derives from the word which means to change. But of course, the saints are protected from the desires of the flesh and the Abdaal are saved from the impurity of will or motive, but even these cannot be regarded as free from these two respective evils because it is possible for them to be inclined towards these two weaknesses at times, but God overtakes them with His mercy and brings them to their senses.

Abdul Qadir

“Polytheism consists not merely of idol worship; it is also polytheism to follow the desire of the flesh and to adopt anything out of this world and of the hereafter in association with God [Allaah Almighty]. Because whatever is besides God [Allaah Kareem]is not God.

Thus, when you are engaged in anything which is beside Him you are undoubtedly associating that other thing with Allaah Almighty. Therefore, beware and do not rest and fear and do not feel secure, seek and do not remain indifferent, then alone will you attain to security.

“It may be that the thing about which you speak may be removed from you and the thing which you think (assume) to be permanent, and abiding may undergo a change so that you will be put to shame before those to whom you spoke about them.

You should rather reserve the knowledge of this within your own self and should not communicate to others. Then if the thing continues, in existence, know it to be the gift of God and ask for power to be thankful, and for an increase in the favours of God. But if the thing ceases to exist, it will bring progress in knowledge and light and wakefulness and regard”.
