Hazrat Maulana Jalaal ud deen Rumi [Rahmatul Laah Alaieh]  says that a man came out of the house at dark night to pray in the mosque. Because of the darkness he stumbled and he fell into the mud on his face. He went home to change, after changing his clothes he started walking to the mosque again, it was only a few steps away that he again stumbled and fell into the mud again.

He got up from the mud and returned to his house and changed his clothes once again. At the door of the house, he found a man holding a bright lamp in his hand, walking towards the mosque. This time, in the light of the lamp, the worshiper did not face any difficulty in reaching the mosque, and he reached the mosque safely.

The man with the lighted lamp stopped at the door of the mosque. The man went inside the mosque to pray after he finished his prayer, he came out of the mosque, and he saw the man with the lamp waiting for him so that he could accompany him again in the light of the lamp, when the worshiper arrived at the house. He could not resist asking who are you?

The stranger said to tell the truth, I am the “Devil”.!!!

Hearing this the man was astonished …and said

"You should have been happy with me not praying … then why did you bring me to the mosque in the light of a lamp?"

The devil replied that when you first stumbled, Almighty Allaah forgave all your life sins. When you stumbled on the second, Almighty Allaah forgave your whole family. I thought that if you stumbled again now. God would have forgiven your whole village; on your behalf

I have come with a lamp so that you can reach the mosque without falling.
