Allaah Ta’ala says, in the
Qu’raan
“Then the Splendid Vision
drew nearer, and then he came closer. So there was a distance of two hands, but
rather less than that. And He revealed to His servant whatever He revealed.”
[Surah 53, Verses 8-10]
In these verses Allaah
Ta’aala tells us about the proximity that was experienced by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ during
the Beauteous Vision of Almighty Allaah.
[Radi Allaahu-Anhu].
“Prophet Muhammad approached
Sidratul Muntaahaa and came so close to the Glorious Rabb that there was a
distance of two bows or even less between them.
[Bukhari Shareef,vol. 2, pg 1120]
Allaah Ta’ala further says
in the Holy Qur’an,
“The heart lied not in what
he saw.”
[Surah 53, Verse 11]
This means that the blessed
eye of the Prophet ﷺ
totally absorbed the
Beauteous Vision of Almighty Allaah and his heart verified that this
observation was indeed accurate without any error.
Allaah Ta’ala then says,
“And indeed he saw that Splendid Sight twice.”
[Surah 53, Verse 13]
Sub haan Allaah! Besides Almighty
Allaah, who will know the true status of our Beloved Prophet ﷺ who saw
his Lord with his physical eyes?
He was then presented to
the Divine Presence and experienced the thrill of witnessing the Divine Glory
and Manifestation at the closest possible propinquity.
SALAAH PRAYERS -THE GIFT OF MAIRAAJ TO THE UMMAH
There the Lord revealed
unto His servant that which He revealed, and ordained fifty daily prayers for
him on that great night. It is because of the great importance of Prayer that
Allaah Almighty ordained it in heaven all other ordinances were decreed on the
earth. It symbolizes ascension to heaven; it is the Muslim's spiritual
ascension to heaven. Thus, Prayer is the gift that the Prophet (peace and
blessings be upon him) brought with him from that journey to all Muslims so
that they can worship Allaah Almighty through it.
Originally 50 in number.
However due to the mercy and Waseelaa (connection) of the Holy Prophet it was
reduced in number but maintains its rewards in the original.!
Sub haan Allaah!
(Sahih Muslim p. 97 Vol. 1).
