Ramadan 2021-The State of the Believer is always Good

Allaah Kareem is always giving. Even when it looks as though He’s withholding. The wise believer will focus on what is given,

rather than fixating on the illusion of what was taken.

Ramadan
Ramadan 2020

This year, Ramadan is coming in the midst of a global pandemic. And many of us feel deprived.

For the first time in our lives, we are unable to go to the Mosque,Taraweeh, Qiyaam. We are unable to go to family and community iftars.

Many of us worry that this Ramadan won’t be complete. And that would indeed be the case if it was you or I who intentionally

deprived ourselves of these things. But, not when it's the Qadr of Allaah Almighty. This is deep.

Remember that Allaah Kareem’s decisions for the believer are always good for them.

The Prophet

(Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam)

said:

"Amazing is the affair of the believer, for there is good for him in every matter. And this is not the case with anyone,

except the believer.

If something pleasing befalls him, he thanks Allaah Almighty, and thus there is good for him. And if difficulty befalls him,

he shows patience, and thus there is good for him."

 (Saheeh Muslim 2999)

In another hadees, the Prophet (Peace be upon Him) said:

"I am amazed by the believer. Verily, Allaah Kareem does not decree anything for the believer, except what is good for him."

(Musnad Ahmad 12495, Hasan)

This means all circumstances chosen by Allaah Almighty are good for us--as long as we have the response of a believer: patience and gratitude.

Sometimes gifts are wrapped in deprivation and hardship. And sometimes harm is wrapped in glitter and pleasure.

Allaah Kareem says,

“It may be that you hate something and it is good for you, and it may be that you love something and it is bad for you.

Allaah [Almighty] knows and you do not know.”

 (Quraan 2: 216)
