                                                                     [Salutation upon Him]

Durood Shareef that is recited in the daily prayers contains the name of Hazrat Ibraheem [Salutation upon Him] that is it is known as Durood Ibraheemi. It is narrated that after completing the construction of Baiet Ul laah [Kaaba] at Makkah], Hazrat Ibraheem  [Salutation upon Him] prayed to Allaah Kareem that whoever old person from the Ummah of Hazrat Muhammad [the last prophet] offers prayer [two Rakaat] by turning his face to Kaabah, accept my intercession in his favor, Hazrat Ismaaeel [Salutation upon them] Hazrat Hajra, Hazrat Sarah and Hazrat Ishaaq [Salutation upon them]said Aameen. After this Hazrat Ismael [Salutation upon them]in his prayer asked Allaah Kareem to accept his intercession in favor of the youngsters from Ummah of Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ who offer prayers [two Rakaat] turning their face towards Kaaba and others said Aameen. In this way, Hazrat Ishaaq [Salutation upon them] prayed in favor of middle-aged person from Ummah of  Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ, 

Hazrat Saraah prayed in favor of women of Ummah of Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ  and Hazrat Hajrah prayed in favor of young girls of Ummah of Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ while the rest of them said Aameen.

Ummah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ [i.e. we Muslims] was asked to pray for the family of Hazrat Ibraheem [Salutation upon them]in the five prayers as a token of thanking the family of Hazrat Ibraheem [Salutation upon them] for the gift of their prayers. The Dua [prayer] that is to be offered in each prayer was taught by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in the form of Durood Ibraheemi. 

This Durood shows the love of Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ for the family of Ibraheem [Salutation upon Him]. Due to this love, Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ named one of his sons as “Ibraheem”. Moreover, on the night of Mairaj, Hazrat Ibraheem [Salutation upon them] asked Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ to say Salaam to his Ummah; as a response of this salaam, Prophet Muhammadﷺ said Salaam on them in the form of Durood Ibraheemi.

This is one of the best Durood as its words were said by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ So, abundantly reciting this Durood besides 5 prayers is full of blessings and source of worldly and religious blessings, source of pleasure of Allaah Kareem, changes hardships in ease and Allaah Kareem’s help accompanies the recite on every step thus his needs get fulfilled. One gets the right of the intercession of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, blessings in worldly belongings, and death at Ieeman [belief] by reciting this Durood Shareef. One who recites this Durood Shareef regularly gets ease in the life hereafter and will enter into paradise.

The certificate or the validity of this Durood Shareef is proved from the Bukhaari Shareef [Hadees book] that Hazrat Abdul Reham bin Abi Laila said that they met Ka’ab bn Ajrah who said should I tell you a Hadees of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ; we said yes. 

He said, “once we requested to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ that we know the order to recite Durood o Salaam on you but how should we do that? At this Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us these words:

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ
.إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ
اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ، وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ
.إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ

O Allaah Kareem, let Your Peace and Blessing come upon [Prophet] Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
as you have brought peace to [Prophet] Ibraaheem and his family.
Truly, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.
Allaah Kareem, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
as you have blessed Ibraheem and his family.
Truly, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.
