Hazrat Owais
Qarani [Radiyal Laah Anhu] loved and followed the Sunnats
of the Holy Prophet Muhammed [Sallal
Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] his desire to meet the Prophet personally was never fulfilled
because his mother needed constant care.
Many times, in the
company of his followers, the Holy Prophet [Sallal
Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] stated, “I can smell the beauty of my friend from the land of
Yemen.” This statement is in direct reference to the spiritual greatness of
Hazrat Owais Qarani [Radiyal Laah Anhu].
Hazrat Umar [Radiyal Laah Anhu] quotes Rasoolul Laah [Sallal
Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] as saying, “Oh, Umar! From Yemen a man will arrive whose name is
Owais, he cares for his old and frail mother. If for anything, he takes an oath
in the name of Allaah Almighty, Allaah Kareem will fulfill his oath. If you can
ask from him prayers for your own forgiveness, then you must do so.”
