Hazrat Bilaal [Radiyal Laah Anhu] Masjid Al Aqsa & the Call to Prayer [Azaan]

Hazrat Bilaal [Radiyal Laah Anhu] Masjid Al Aqsa & the          Call to Prayer [Azaan]

Palestine

Indeed, the love of Hazrat Bilaal [Radiyal Laah Anhu] for the Prophet ﷺ was boundless…

Did you know that Hazrat Bilaal [Radiyal Laah Anhu] was the first to perform the Azaan in Madinah, the first to perform Azaan in Makkah on the day of Conquest and the first or one of the first ones to perform Azaan in Masjid Al Aqsa?

Years have passed, Hazrat Bilaal [Radiyal Laah Anhu] had stopped saying the Azaan out of extreme grief and sadness since the Holy Prophet passing away, he was quieted but still continued and took part in various expeditions.

When Palestine fell to the Muslim forces and the flag of Islam fluttered over the Blessed Holy land, Hazrat ‘Umar

Masjid Al Aqsa
[Radiyal Laah Anhu], who was the Caliph …Ameer ul Mumineen at that time, set out to Palestine. This was the time when large parts of the world were under the sway of the Muslims.

The Muslims [who had defeated empires] had now gathered in Masjid Al Aqsa. The delegation included those persecuted by the Makkan Kuffar’s, who fought at Badr, and who took the allegiance of Rizwan just before the conquest of Makaah.

Zuhr [noon] prayer came when ‘ Hazrat Umar [Radiyal Laah Anhu] saw Hazrat Bilaal [Radiyal Laah Anhu] and remembered the role he had played in the past.

‘ Hazrat Umar [Radiyal Laah Anhu] had requested Hazrat Bilaal  to call the Azaan, he refused at first but the Sahabah urged him to agree to ‘ Hazrat Umar’s request.

He then stood up and called the Azaan in Reverence and Honour of the Noble Sahabah’s.

The moment was so emotional that even though he was old, his voice was as moving as it was before and it resounded through the still air and it moved the hearts of all those who were present.

Everyone, including ‘Hazrat Umar, the Companions [Sahabah’s] and those Muslim warriors burst into tears and their sobbing reverberated throughout the Mosque.

Indeed, the voice of Hazrat Bilaal [Radiyal Laah Anhu] has taken them all back to the days when the Beloved Holy Prophet ﷺ was still among them.

[May Allaah Kareem Bless their souls Aameen]
