Worships of  God [Allah/ Allaah Almighty] Zikr                                             Remembrances and the Hadith/Hadees

Allah

Zikr/ Dhikr/Zekr, ذکر in Urdu and Zekr in Persian "Pronouncement", "Invocation" Or "Remembrance" is the Remembrance of God [Allaah Almighty] which is commanded in the Qur'an for all Muslims.

To engage in ‘Zikr’ [Remembrances] is to have awareness of God according to Islam. Zikr as a devotional act includes the repetition of Divine Names, supplications and sayings from Ahadees literature, and sections of the Qur'an. More generally, any activity in which the Muslim maintains awareness of God [Allaah Kareem] is considered Zikr.

Zikr/Dhikr Beads-Tasbeeh

Known also as Tasbih are usually beads upon a string, 99 or 100 in number, which corresponds to the 99 names of Allaah Almighty and other recitations. The beads are used to keep track of the number of recitations that make up the Zikr.

A popular Zikr Subhaan Allah (33x) Al Hamdu Lil Laah (33x) Laa Ilaaha Illal Laah (33x) Allaahu Akbar was prescribed by the Holy Prophet Muhammed [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] and is still practiced by many Muslims worldwide after each of the daily five prayers.

The Holy Prophet's Companion Hazrat Abu Huraierah [Radiyal Laah Anhu] had a string with 1,000 knots that he used to Zikr with before bed; one of the Holy Prophet’s [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] wife used to count her Zikr with date palm shells.

Many of the Muslim scholars of the past 1400 years, whom Muslims consider foremost in knowledge, used Zikr beads.
