Hazrat Ali the Great Companion's Vast Knowledge-

[Radiyal Laah Anhu]

Hazrat Ali

                                                HIS VAST KNOWLEDGE:

The Prophet (صلّی اللہ علیہ وسلم) have said,

“I am the city of knowledge and 'Ali is its gate”,

Hazrat Ali (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) attained great knowledge from the holy court of Rasoolul laah (صلّی اللہ علیہ وسلم).

Hazrat Ali have narrated five hundred and eighty six Ahadees

(Sayings) of the Prophet Muhammad [Peace be upon him]

“His knowledge was vast. He was Aarif bil laah, and strict in the issues of Deen. His spoke words of righteousness which differentiated right from wrong. His every decision was full of justice. His praise is also present in the verses of the Quraan and in the Ahadees of the Prophet Muhammad (صلّی اللہ علیہ وسلم) Hazrat Abu Amaar (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) reports that Hazrat Ali...said,

“Ask me whatever you wish from the Quraan”.

His every decision was full of justice.

There is no Ayaat that I am not aware of. I even know whether it was revealed during the day or night, or it was revealed on soft our mountainous land.”

Hazrat Ali (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ)….narrated hundreds of Ahadees. His knowledge, wisdom and decisions were so great that Hazrat Umar a-Farooq (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) says,

“The best judge amongst all the Sahaabah is Hazrat Ali”.

Hazrat Saeed ibn Habeeb (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) says, “There was no person in Madeenah except Hazrat Ali (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ).Who could say, “Ask me whatever you want to know’”

Hazrat Abdul laah ibn Mas'ood (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) was also the possessor of great knowledge, but he too used to openly announce the following,

“None has more knowledge of the Faraa'iz than Alee (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ)and none has more understanding than him.”

Hazrat Ali (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) says, “If I wished to compile the commentary of Soorah Faatihah, then I would be able to load 40 camels with books (from this Tafseer).”

HIS POETRY:

In eloquence and command of language, there is none that can be equal to the people of Arabia. They have the ability to render beautiful impromptu verses of prose. Hazrat Ali was also a very great poet. He wrote Praises to Allaah Kareem, and many poems in praise of the Prophet (صلّی اللہ علیہ وسلم) which can be found in the books of history and Seerah(سیرۃ) . A few stanzas of his poems are being presented for attaining blessings.

Lana ilmuw wa lil Juhhaali Maalu

“We are pleased with that which our Lord has distributed, That, he blessed me with knowledge and the ignorant with wealth.”

“Li Annal Maala Yufni Anqareebin wa Innal ilma Yabqaa Laa Yazaalu”

“Because very soon, the wealth will become less and be finished And knowledge will remain, for there is no end for it.”
