THE BLESSED BIRTH-AQEEQAH
AND THE NAME MUHAMMAD
The Holy Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عايه وسالم
was born during the first year of Aam Al Feel [the
year of the Elephant's War] on 12th Rabee-ul-Awwal; 21st April, 571 A.D,
during early morning; before the sunrise.
Aqeeqah ceremony as thanksgiving to Allaah
Almighty took place on the 7th day. All the Quraiesh community was invited to
the feast. When people asked, What is the name of the child?.. his grandfather Hazrat
Abdul Muttalib answered "Muhammad".
The Name ‘Muhammad’ – means a person
praised again and again.
He was asked as to why the child has
been assigned this unique type of name in deviation of customary names? The
reply was
"My child should deserve
appreciation and Praise of the Entire World"
And Muhammad صلى الله عايه وسالم
means the most ‘Praiseworthy’
The Blessed Name Ahmad – the person
who praises Allaah more than everyone.
His praise will continue till
infinity, for neither will stop the tongues, nor will stop the pens, nor will
finish the treasuries of the meanings and the interpretations.
