Milad/ Meelad un Nabee Celebration-Abu Lahab is in Hell but given respite every Monday!

Abu Lahab is in Hell but given respite every Monday!

Abu Lahab the Uncle of the Prophet was one of the staunchest enemies of the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلّم and is the only one amongst the enemies of The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلّم who has been criticized by name in the Holy Qur’an.

When he heard from his maid Suwaibah that a nephew – Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلّم– was born to him, he out of happiness and as a mark of celebration at the arrival of his nephew pointed his finger indicating that he has set her free for bringing the good news.

After he died, Hazrat Abbas (his brother) saw him in his dream and enquired, “What is your state now?” “Woe is me! Was I not the uncle of a great and distinguished Prophet?

Would that I had believed in him and become one of the blissful dwellers of Paradise gardens! Ah, but I chose to be his greatest enemy, persisting in error and disbelief, so that I am one of the damned of Hell.

fire, punishment

“I am in the severe punishment of Allaah Almighty However, there are two grants of mercy that I receive over and above all the other inmates of the Fire: from the night linking Sunday to Monday up to the following night, my punishment is alleviated; and when I place my two fingers in my mouth on that day, a cool drink of water issues forth from between my index and middle fingers that soothes my torment.”

[Bukhari Sharif]

We should consider this; A non-believer, who was a staunch enemy of The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلّم had his torment reduced and receives water in Hell (Something unimagined in Hell) for celebrating the arrival of his nephew. If we being the believers and the slaves of The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلّم celebrate the arrival of our Beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلّم, then how can we be devoid of rewards from Almighty Allaah?
