An Eid Gift 🎁
Do you remember as a child how excited you were on Eid? The anticipation of wearing the new clothes, meeting the cousins, presents and feasting. If you could have, you probably would have liked to jump on the bed all night and bring the moon into your room than go to sleep!
Multiply
that by a million and that’s the joy we will feel when we go back to Allaah
Kareem and He is happy with us.
This
happiness we have to earn, on our part at least. We have to go back with good deeds,
this world is Darul Amal
[House
of deeds] and so we must live and work in that spirit.
With
everything that is happening in the world today, all the despondency and
desperation we have seen this Ramadan in the Ummah, we can feel overwhelmed and
helpless. But that need not be our
response.
Our
Eid gift this Ramadan is to open ourselves more to the Ummah.
Pick/make a project and intend to help a group of people win. You might like to feed some widow/orphan families monthly or sponsor an orphan’s education or two or three. Visit a sick one in your family…or extended family. There are many whose pride stop them from sharing their woes. Read their tears…ease their grief whether it is financial or emotional. Make someone’s life better, take away someone’s struggles and worries. It does not have to be money, your time, caring and reaching out all help.
Find
what speaks to you and get busy.
This
is what will come with us on our journey to Allaah Kareem. All the branding fashioning
Louis Vuitton, Fendi, MK, Bentley, Gucci, Prada, will be left far far behind.
Start
some conversations:
Dear
Readers, our gift this Ramadan is to reach out to people like this, if you try
and go through the grapevine you will find them.
Looking
after the poor is the work of our Beloved Holy Prophet [Sallal
Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam].
This
is what the Mothers of the Believers did, this is what we have to do. Before we leave this world, we have to leave
our own legacy of love and making a difference.
Take
your Eid gift, make your intention before you celebrate Eid and start your
project. It can be very small but Sow
the seeds and watch them Grow. Your little could make a huge difference in
someone’s life.
