THE
LAND OF KARBALA
In short, after journeying a long travel the caravan reached a field on 2nd of Muharram, the day of Thursday 61 A.H. along with your companions and family and pitched your tent there. Hurr also pitched his camp opposite yours. Although Hurr had reverence and respect for the Prophet’s family [Ahle Baiet] in his heart and even performed his Prayers [Salaah] behind Hazrat Imaam Husaien رضی اللہ عنہ but he was helpless before the command of Ibne Ziyaad. He knew that if he showed the slightest bit of kindness to them, despite having 1000 soldiers on his side it will be impossible for him to hide. And then if Ibn e Ziyaad finds out he would not be spared by the governor who will severely punish him. So, he constantly carried out his instructions given by Ibne Ziyaad.
Although it narrates in
some books that Hurr secretly met Hazrat Imaam Husaien رضی اللہ عنہ and
said to him out of respect for the Ahle Baiet, that “A huge number of Ibne
Ziyaad’s soldiers are coming, so it is better that you leave here at night. I
will not follow you and will bear whatever consequences occurs to me.”
So…Hazrat Imaam
Husaien رضی اللہ عنہ traveled the entire night with his companions but at
dawn found himself in the very first place he left from!
Noticing the desert and
its desolate depressing environment, Hazrat Imaam Husaien رضی اللہ عنہ asked
what the place was called. the people said, “Karbala,” as soon as you heard the
word ‘Karbala’ you said, ‘my maternal grandfather The Holy Prophet [Sallal
Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam], had prophesied that I would be martyred in Karbala.
“This is a place of
affliction and hardship [‘Karb’ and ‘Balaa’] this is where our
necessities and provisions will be offloaded, the sitting-place of our camels,
and the killing- field of our supporters and helpers.” –

Hearing these
grief-stricken sorrowful epigraph/expressions your respected son, Hazrat Alee
Akbar رضی اللہ عنہ
said, Dear Honorable Father “What is this that you are saying?”
You said my beloved son!
“When your Honorable grandfather, Hazrat Alee رضی اللہ عنہ was returning from the battle of Siffeen and arrived
here, he said, ‘In this desert, ‘Luminance of my eyes’ [Noor e Nazr] and
my ‘Dearest Son’ Husaien will be martyred in severe merciless state.’ He then
asked me what I was going to do at that time, and I answered that I would be
patient.
To this, he said, ‘Yes,
only be patient because there is an infinite amount of reward for those who are
patient

Rauzaa thush- Shuhaadā-page-163
When the helpers and
supporters would try to peg the tent to the ground, fresh blood would come out
from there. Seeing this condition your respected sister Hazrat Zaienab [Allaah is well-pleased with her] said, “brother! this is bloody
ground and here my heart feel anxious and uneasy.” He replied, Be Content upon
‘Lord’s Secret’ and His ‘Pleasure.’
[Raazi

camp here. This is the area for the Martyrs and the promised place, and we are
to be patience in every condition.”
Here the caravan of
Honorable Hazrat Imaam رضی اللہ عنہ in the state of helplessness, away from home pitched
camp at Karbala, the Yazeedi government were busy in preparing to unleash
terror on these prominence grand noble sacred personalities. So, on the second
day, Amar Ibne Sa’ad, with an army of 4,000 soldiers from Kufaa, reached Karbala
to confront Hazrat Imaam Husaien رضی اللہ عنہ.
